It can be a unilateral or bilateral problem that began in early childhood. Surgical correction can reshape the cartilage so that the ears take on the desired shape.
It is also possible to correct stretched or torn earlobes, e.g. after wearing so-called “tunnels”.
At the clinic, we offer the following ear procedures:
- Surgery for protruding ears (otoplasty)
- Ear lobe correction ("tunnels")
Process of the operation
Otoplasty is a procedure performed under local anesthesia and takes approximately 90 minutes. The operation involves softening and shaping the cartilage and fixing the earlobes to the head with stitches from behind the ear so that there is no visible scar. In the new shape, the ears are filled with special cotton wool and bandaged with an elastic bandage.
Postoperative Regime
After the operation, the client goes home the same day. The ears are painful for the first 3 days, it is recommended to administer analgesics more often and in lower doses. The first check-up is after a week, but the elastic bandage on the head must be worn for 2 weeks. For the two-week check-up, it is necessary to bring a headband, which is put on after the bandages are removed. It is worn continuously for another 2 weeks and then another 2 weeks only at night. When playing sports, we recommend wearing the headband within 3 months of the procedure.
