Eyelids
We perform eyelid corrections (blepharoplasty) on both the upper and lower eyelids. Sometimes a brow-fix or midface lift may be recommended as an additional procedure.

Eyelid correction (blepharoplasty) is suitable for clients with excess skin on the upper and/or lower eyelids that is unaesthetic and/or causes vision problems. Sometimes there are also fat “bags” that need to be reduced. There is no alternative to such surgical treatment – surgery is the optimal and at the same time the only option for correction.
Brow-fix is an extension of the scope of upper eyelid surgery with internal sutures fixing the eyebrows in a higher position if necessary and desired by the client. No additional incision is necessary. In indicated cases of more pronounced sagging of the middle part of the face, it is appropriate to supplement the lower eyelid surgery with a so-called midface lift.

Process of the operation
The procedure is performed in the supine position under local anesthesia. In upper eyelid surgery, the incision is made in the crease of the upper eyelids and continues into the crease behind the outer corner of the eye so that the resulting scar is as little visible as possible. Excess skin is removed, sometimes together with excess fat. The procedure takes approximately 1 hour.
In lower eyelid surgery, the incision is made at least 2 mm from the lower eyelashes on the lower eyelids and continues into the crease behind the outer corner of the eye. Excess skin is removed, sometimes together with excess fat. The procedure takes approximately 1 – 1.5 hours.
The wounds are sutured with non-absorbable suture material, which must be removed in a week. After the procedure, the eyelids are covered sterilely and mild compression is applied.
When combined with a Midface lift, a greater intervention into the tissues is required, which is associated with a slightly longer scar, more pronounced swelling and bruising after the procedure, but also a more beautiful final effect.
Postoperative Regime
After the operation, a rest regime is necessary. For swelling, we recommend, for example, the over-the-counter drug Aescin 3×1 tbl and ice packs or a hydrogel mask. During sleep, it is advisable to create pressure on the operated eye area using an elastic mesh (Pruban) backed with cosmetic tampons. Until the day of suture removal, we coat the surgical wounds with Opht.-Septonexom ung. You can expect the result 6 weeks after the procedure.
